Switching to an electric vehicle is much easier when you have a dedicated home or workplace charger. Charging from a standard 3 pin socket is slow and not designed for the continuous load that an EV places on it. A dedicated 7kW unit gives a full overnight charge for most cars and is far safer for daily use. We assess your supply, recommend a unit that fits your car, your usage and your property, then complete a fully certified install. Most homes get a single phase 7kW charger; three phase 22kW where the supply allows. Technically yes, but a 3 pin socket charges very slowly and is not designed for the continuous load that EV charging puts on it. A dedicated 7kW charger is faster, safer and far more cost effective for daily use. Do you fit chargers we have already bought? Yes. If you already have a unit we are happy to fit it. We will check it is compatible with your supply during the survey and quote the install separately. How much does installation cost? It depends on your supply, the cable run and the unit you choose. We give you a fixed price quote after the survey so there are no surprises on the day. Can the charger work with my solar PV? Yes. Many of the units we install can be set to charge only when your solar PV is generating excess energy, so you fill your car for free during the day.
